How to Remove Paint Overspray on Car Paint?
Paint overspray on a car may seem like a minor cosmetic issue at first, but it can lead to long-term damage if ignored.
Paint overspray happens when fine particles of paint land on your car during nearby spraying, construction work, or painting projects. These particles bond to the surface and create a rough, uneven texture that is often not visible from a distance but can be easily felt by touch.
One of the main reasons to remove overspray is to protect the clear coat. The clear coat is the top protective layer of your car's paint system. If overspray remains on the surface for too long, it can harden and become more difficult to remove, increasing the risk of scratching during cleaning.
Another important reason is maintaining appearance. Overspray can reduce gloss, create dull patches, and make even a well-maintained car look dirty or neglected.
If it feels rough to the touch, you will need a clay bar treatment. Spray a clay lubricant generously over the surface and gently glide the clay bar back and forth. Do not press too hard-let the clay do the work. You will feel the surface becoming smoother as the overspray is lifted.
